Jimmy Eat World announces US tour

Jimmy Eat World have announced a US tour to support the release of 'Chase This Light', set to be released on October 16.

Having previewed many of the album tracks at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds at the weekend, where they played two sets in one day on the Reading leg.

'Chase This Light' is the follow-up to 2004's 'Futures' and was produced by Butch Vig who describes the album as "Quite eclectic. There are three or four songs that sound like classic Jimmy Eat World, with angular, razor-sharp guitars. There are a couple that are a lot more dreamy, and some that are very groove-acious."

The dates are:

Queen Creek AZ Schnepf Farms (KEDJ Edgefest) (September 29)
Redlands CA Greek Amphitheatre (30)
Santa Cruz CA The Catalyst (October 2)
San Francisco CA The Fillmore (3)
Reno NV Grand Sierra (4)
Salt Lake City UT Utah State Fair Park (X96 show) (6)
Beyonc? wowes Ethiopia

Beyonc? Knowles wowed fans by wearing a see-through leotard for the start of her world tour.

The 'Baby Boy' singer - who recently cancelled her Malaysia concerts after refusing to conform to the country's conservative dress code - donned a series of skimpy costumes, including a risqu? leotard with strategically placed Swarovski crystals, for her Ethiopia show on Saturday (20.10.07).

Beyonc? told the 5,000 screaming fans: "I want to thank you. You have been one of the best audiences of my lifetime."

Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa welcomed Beyonc?'s two hour performance as part of the country's year-long celebration of its 2000th year, according to the Coptic calendar.

Beyonc?'s opening act, multi-platinum-selling rapper Ludacris, failed to impress the crowd.

Local music promoter Michael Melake explained: "Rap music doesn't suit Ethiopia.

"Ethiopians need a melody. Rap music is all about the message and we don't identify with that. It's all about the black American experience, and we don't relate to that."

The Black Eyed Peas, who performed in Addis Ababa in September, also
received a lukewarm reception.
